Hangzhou—–The city I live
Location
Hangzhou is the capital and largest city of Zhejiang Province in Eastern China and it is in northern part of Zhejiang Province.
The total area of Hangzhou is 16,596 square kilometers. As you can see where main City area is 3068 square kilometers which has 8 districts, and the other parts are 2 counties and 3 county-level cities.
And I know Bruxelles as capital of Belgium is 162 square kilometers. That means 100s Bruxelles = Hangzhou
Ancient
“天上天堂地下苏杭” “Heaven above, Hangzhou below.”
That means Hangzhou is as beautiful as the heaven.
Hangzhou was chosen as the new capital of the Southern Song Dynasty in 1132. The government of the Song intended Hangzhou to be a temporary capital. However, over the decades Hangzhou grew into a major commercial and cultural center of the Song Dynasty. It rose from a middling city of no special importance to one of the world’s largest and most prosperous.At that time Hangzhou had 440 different kinds of business and the total population is 1,240,000.
Sights
West lack
One of Hangzhou’s most popular sights is the West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The West Lake Cultural Landscape covers an area of 8,210 acres /eikes/ and includes some of Hangzhou’s most notable historic and scenic places. Near the lake is a beautiful area includes historical pagodas, cultural sites, as well as the natural beauty of the lake and hills, including Phoenix Mountain.
Leifeng Pagoda
When you take small Boat travel around the lake you will also see the leifeng tour nearby.
Leifeng Pagoda is a five storey tall tower with eight sides, located on Sunset Hill south of West Lake in Hangzhou. Originally constructed in the year AD 975, it collapsed in 1924 but was rebuilt in 2002, since then it has been a popular tourist attraction.
Now
Nowadays Hangzhou become a very modern city. Hangzhou’s GDP in 2013 is ranked 10th in the whole china. And population up to 8.8 million 2012. We have Hangzhou tower which is a biggest shopping center in Hangzhou.
And we also have West Lake Cultural Square which has Zhejiang Science and Technology Museum inside. Around the cultural square there are many small museums and galleries Hangzhou will be the next super city like shanghai.
Love Paris
Two times traveled to Paris, first time I lost everything of me include Passport, ID card, bank card, money in cash. Even worse that day was my 21 years old birthday.
Second time I found some interesting chinese friends traveled with me. Some of them have studied in Paris for many years. So they took me around city and visited some special places where a tourist can never find.

Different food in Belgium and China
Since I lived in Belgium for 2 months I found Belgium people like eating bread as main food. It’s for breakfast or made as sandwich at lunch. I have eaten many different kinds of bread, some of them are soft and tastes nice but some are hard. And another main food is potato. Steamed potatoes, roast potatoes fried potatoes I have tried all these kinds of ways to cook the potato. My favorite is fried potatoes, French fries, actually Belgium is famous for its fries. I think we can call it Belgian fries not French fries. The most exciting part is choosing the sauce because as to me it likes there are hundreds of sauces! Belgium people also like pasta. As for meat, Belgium people like eat fish, beef and chicken sometimes also pork. There is a famous meal called Mussel & Fries. Most Belgium people like it so do I. There is another interesting I found is the difference of the time people eat three main meal every day between two countries. In Belgium people always eat breakfast at 8 or 9 am, lunch is at 1 or 2 pm and dinner is at 8 or 9 pm at night.
Here are the differences, the main food in the north of china is pasta but in the south of china the main food is rice. As china is a big country, Chinese people can use all kinds of meat, vegetables, and fruits to make meals. So in china we don’t something typical can stands for the Chinese food. But each place has its own specialty foods, all of these foods make the diversity of Chinese cuisine. The time to eat for breakfast is 6 or 7 am, lunch is 11 or 12 at day and dinner is 6 or 7 pm at night. It’s totally different from Belgium. And different kinds of Chinese people can handle different kings of food. For example in Quzhou the place I grew up the most famous meals are stewed duck head, rabbit head and fish head. And I know Belgians prefer lighter. Through things people eat in two different countries we can see the different culture.
